Dr. Bowman is a Florida native, having grown up in Delray Beach. After college he attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Following dental school he was accepted into a coveted residency position in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Cleveland, Ohio at MetroHealth Medical Center and the prestigous Cleveland Clinic. In addition to completing the residency training, he also completed a medical degree at Case Western Reserve University and spent an additional year training in general surgery. In medical school he received honors in general surgery, psychiatry, otolaryngology - head and neck surgery, neurosurgery, and plastic surgery.
After residency he practiced oral and maxillofacial surgery in Hanover, New Hampshire, the home of Dartmouth College. In the summer of 2009 he returned home to south Florida. His surgical interests include wisdom tooth extraction, placement of dental implants, bone grafting, oral pathology, anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, and minimally invasive facial cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Bowman lives in Boca Raton with his wife Pam and three young children - Alexander, Natalie, and William.
We've known for six years and love him and his office staff. Maria and Lin are very caring, attentive and professional. Location easy to find. Everything exceptionally clean. No waiting. Great flexibility on appointment times. John's very well trained and decorated, but his manner is easy going and comforting. Nothing painful. He takes extra time to explain well what's going on, the options and issues. Not pushy or rushed. Honest. Clearly does what he loves, and great at it. I recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have extreme anxiety and Dr. Bowman really helped me. I had two impacted wisdom teeth and Dr. Bowman suggested to remove them. He was patient, kind, and very understanding. I highly recommend!!! Super professional, no condescending tone about anxiety, very comforting staff! I will forever recommend them. I have known them for 6 years now! Almost everyone is part of the original staff and that speaks volumes about Dr. Bowman and how great of a doctor he is!
